This was our restaurant of choice in Dartmouth for seafood. Earlier this week we visited. We didn’t realize how much the prices had gone up. Clams & Haddock tips are now 28.50, Clams & Scallops the same. I feel that this is a bit pricy compared to other restaurants we visit in Halifax/Dartmouth area. Although I enjoy their food we will give 2nd thought about going back.

The Pleasant Street Diner was fantastic! While visiting Halifax, we were on the hunt for the best fish and chips—not from a Michelin-starred chef or a hotel restaurant trying to fake the seafood vibe, but the real deal locals actually love. Pleasant Street Diner delivered. You can taste the love in the food. The fish was light, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Our meals arrived in under 15 minutes. This spot is fast, friendly, and full of flavour. I highly recommend it—you honestly can’t go wrong. And whatever you do, save room for dessert. Or don’t... and order it anyway. We were full and still tried the dessert, and it was absolutely worth it—made fresh daily. I’m still looking for the six-star button.

A delightful little restaurant is situated on the Dartmouth side. They offer fresh seafood, and their clams are especially delectable. However, if you are particularly interested in obtaining fresh clams from this establishment, it would be prudent to make a phone call in advance, as they often sell out by 5 pm. The fish and chips are also quite popular.

A true fish and chips dinner, a very busy spot but if you need to wait for a table it is worth it. I saw a lot of faces of staff and customers from the old John’s Lunch. The food comes out fast and hot, with very generous portions. Beer comes cold and in a bottle. This place is well worth the visit.

After years of seeing photos and hearing how good Pleasant Street Diner was I finally got a chance on my Vacation home to try them first hand. Not many places in Alberta have clams and fries. But the ones that do are not great. Pleasant Street Diner didn't disappoint us. From the quality of service and friendly staff. The food was great! Thanks again Jennifer for the photo.

This place is so good, it's actually ridiculous. Portions are HUGE! Highly recommend the seafood chowder, scallops, clams, fish and chips. My daughter got the omelette and it was STUFFED with vegetables and cheese! Can't wait for our next trip to Nova Scotia so we can go back again (and again)!

This diner has great staff, amazing food and reasonably priced. Portions are large but take home what you don't finish. I had the fish and chips and it was fresh and the batter was not thick or greasy. Great place for that home cooked meal.
